I did not arrive at this work from the outside
About
The word disease comes from the Old French desaise, the absence of ease. I spent twenty-five years in health settings across NHS services, bereavement and community services, early intervention, rare disease advocacy, and international health organisations. In every setting, beneath what a person first brought, the same thing kept becoming visible. The absence of ease, in the body, in the relationship, in the system.
I was born in Iran. I lost my mother young, moved to Sweden at six, and built a career across the United Kingdom and internationally before coming to Abu Dhabi. I have walked my own complex health journey, and I know exhaustion and recovery from the inside. Loss and change are lived ground for me.
My understanding of ease was hard-won. It came from living a long time without it, and from years spent alongside other people in the same position. A person understands ease most clearly once they have lived a long time without it.
That is the ground EaseAlchemy is built from.
The opposite of disease is ease.
Where the Work Comes From
The tradition is Iranian. Good thoughts, good words, good acts. In Farsi (Persian), Pendâr-e Nik, Goftâr-e Nik, Kerdâr-e Nik. In older Avestan, Humata, Hukhta, Hvarshta.
People in this tradition asked one question for a very long time. What lets a person come back to ease? They were asking it more than three thousand years ago, and almost certainly long before that.
They never mistook ease for comfort. They faced pain rather than turning away from it, and they held pain and love as the two places where the soul and the body meet. Integrity is what the threefold path asks for.
Contemporary research confirms a great deal of what the tradition already knew. It does not originate it. I name the tradition as the source because it is the source.
What I Do With It
What I teach is the tradition carried through my own work. Twenty-five years in health settings, with these ideas travelling alongside me the whole way. I have shaped them into an approach a person can use in a modern life.
Ease is not one fixed thing. For one person it is rest. For another it is a clear head, or steady ground, or being able to act without doubting every move. Ease is your own, and comfort is a different matter altogether.
The practice works in two streams, held together. For individuals and groups, education on ease for bodies, relationships, and systems, through sessions and courses. For organisations, consultancy on ease for people, culture, leadership, and the systems that shape how work happens.
Sessions, courses and organisational work runs in person in the United Arab Emirates and online internationally.
