A Practice of Ease

A FIVE WEEK COURSE

Five Mondays in November · Online · A small group · Applications close 18 October

You wake up and the day is already on top of you. You push through it, and by the evening there is nothing left. You are short with the people you love most. You keep meaning to rest, and it keeps not happening.

Maybe yours looks different. But you know what it is to live a long way from ease.

Ease has not gone anywhere. It is still yours. You have just been away from it for a while, and I can help you find your way back.

Ease is not one fixed thing. For one person it is rest. For another it is a clear head, or steady ground, or being able to act without doubting every move. It is not comfort, and it is not the absence of pain. Ease is your own.

By the end of these five weeks, you will leave with at least one practice of ease that is built for your life. Something small, something yours, and something you can keep using long after the course ends.

I have spent twenty-five years working in health settings. I lived a long time without ease myself, and for years now I have helped people find their way back to it.

Where the Practice Comes From

The practice is old. It comes from the Iranian tradition: good thoughts, good words, and good actions. In Farsi (Persian): Pendâr-e Nik, Goftâr-e Nik, Kerdâr-e Nik. In older Avestan: Humata, Hukhta, Hvarshta.

People in this tradition asked one question for a very long time: what lets a person come back to ease? They were asking it more than three thousand years ago, and almost certainly long before.

They never mistook ease for comfort. They faced pain instead of turning from it. That is what sets this apart from most wellness courses. It is one of the oldest answers we have, and it runs in my own roots.

What I teach is not the tradition untouched. I have spent twenty-five years working in health, and I carried these ideas with me the whole way. I have shaped them into my own approach, something you can actually use in a modern life. That is what this course hands you.

Who the Course is For

This course is for you if:

You have drifted from ease and you want a way back you can practise, not just read about.

You are drawn to the Iranian tradition, or to your own roots, as something alive and useful now.

You want to learn in a small group, at a steady pace, over five weeks.

If the questions near the end speak to you, it is probably for you.

What the Five Weeks Cover

The course follows the three parts of the path, one at a time, so you can see how they fit together.

Week one is the ground. We start with the body. We look at what ease is, what it is not, and where the tradition comes from. You get the whole map here: the three parts of the path, and the three places ease lives, which are the body, your relationships, and the systems around you.

Week two is thoughts. Pendâr-e Nik. This is honest thinking, which asks more of you than looking on the bright side. We look at your inner voice, and at the thoughts you carry without noticing.

Week three is words. Goftâr-e Nik. Words carry ease, or they block it. We look at how you speak to other people, and how you speak to yourself. This week leans toward your relationships.

Week four is actions. Kerdâr-e Nik. Small, steady actions matter more than big gestures. This week looks at the systems around you, and at what you can actually change inside them.

Week five brings the three together. Thoughts, words, and actions as one. By now you are building your own practice, in the part of your life that needs it most, and you leave with it in hand.

Every week gives you three things: a teaching, something to reflect on before we next meet, and one small practice created for your life.

What a Meeting is Like

We meet for ninety minutes. The group is small, so it never feels like a webinar. I teach for part of it, then we reflect together, and you leave with one small thing to practise that week.

You never have to speak if you do not want to. Some weeks you might just listen, and that still counts as taking part. It is calm, and there is room to breathe.

How the Course Runs

The course meets once a week for five weeks. We meet on five Mondays: 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30 November 2026, all online, on Proton Meet.

Each meeting is recorded, so if you miss a Monday you can catch up. The reflection part is not recorded, so people can speak freely.

The group is small and there is one intake.

Two Group Times

I run two groups, one in the morning and one in the evening, so people in different time zones can join. You pick one. Both are set to Gulf Standard time, which is UTC+4, and both stay the same across all five Mondays in November, so there is nothing to work out again partway through.

The morning group meets at 7:00 AM GST. This suits the Gulf, South and East Asia, and Australia. That is 7:00 AM in the United Arab Emirates, 6:00 AM in Bahrain and Qatar, 8:30 AM in India, 11:00 AM in Singapore and Hong Kong, 2:00 PM in Sydney, and 3:00 AM UTC.

The evening group meets at 8:00 PM GST. This suits the Gulf, Europe, the UK, and the Americas. That is 8:00 PM in the United Arab Emirate, 7:00 PM in Bahrain and Qatar, 5:00 PM in most of Europe including Spain, France, and Italy, 4:00 PM in the UK, 11:00 AM in New York and Toronto, 8:00 AM in Los Angeles, and 4:00 PM UTC.

If your city is not on the list, work out your time from the UTC line above.

What it Costs

The course is AED 1,000. If you are outside the United Arab Emirates, that is about USD 275 or EUR 250. These are approximate, as rates move. For that you get five ninety-minute meetings, a small group, and a practice you keep.

You do not pay when you apply. If I invite you to join, you confirm your place with one payment, which I arrange with you after you apply, closer to the start.

How Applying Works

Applying is free, and the form is short. I read every application myself, and I write back to you personally.

Applications close on 18 October 2026. If a group fills up, I may open another later. There is no rush and no pressure either way. If this is for you, you will feel it.

The Application

A few reflective questions. Write as much or as little as feels right.
